WILKO – PAY CLAIM UPDATE
Over the last couple of days you may have received a company briefing on this year’s pay talks and a GMB ballot. In retail team members are being asked to sign that they have received the briefing. This didn’t happen in distribution centres. So if asked to sign, please ask for a copy of the briefing.
We’ve had two pay meetings with Wilko management, on 23rd January and on 6th February 2020
At the meeting in February, management said that they would increase Level 1 pay, as
they are required to by law on 1st April 2020, but other than that, no other team members would receive a pay rise in 2020. This would affect level 2 & 5 team members in distribution centres, level 3 team members in stores and non-executive pay grades in Head Office.
The GMB has stated that this is not something we could support. We believe everyone should get a pay rise. Management said they would put their position in writing.
Subsequently, management have asked for time to reflect and see whether they can make a pay offer to those currently being offered nothing.
We will keep you informed of any developments and whether an improved offer from management is forthcoming.
